No. 11 Washington Volleyball Downs Oregon State, 3-0

SEATTLE- The 11th-ranked Washington volleyball team (16-7, 7-7 Pac-10) defeated Oregon State (14-12, 4-10 Pac-10) in straight games tonight, 30-21, 30-23, 30-22. Senior Kara Bjorklund put on a spectacular hitting performance, logging 13 kills on 17 swings for a .706 hitting percentage.
In Game One, the Huskies out hit the Beavers .377 to .216 and more than doubled their kill total, 26 to 12. Bjorklund sparked Washington's offense, hitting .667 with six kills and no errors on nine swings. UW and OSU played even through 6-6 before the Huskies surged ahead to 14-8. Washington continued to hold the six-point lead at 23-17 and never looked back, powering its way to the 30-21 win. Veris had seven kills in the game, while Tomasevic picked up six.
Game Two was neck-in-neck as neither team could build more than a two-point lead through 20-20. Washington then went on a 7-1 run with four different Huskies notching kills to make the score 27-21. A Bjorklund kill and ace, and Beaver error lifted UW to the 30-23 win.
Washington led all of Game Three, building a four-point lead at 8-4. Oregon State pulled to within one point at 15-14 before the Huskies went on a 10-2 run, led by Leck, Bjorklund and Tomasevic who each picked up two points for the Dawgs. OSU fought off three match points before sophomore Darla Myhre picked up one of her nine kills on the night to give Washington the 30-22 victory.
Oregon State was led by Allison Lawrence with 15 kills and Anne Watts-Roberts with 13. K.C. Frederic and Karah Rhodes recorded 12 and 11 digs, respectively.
Washington continues Pac-10 action tomorrow when it hosts Oregon at 7 p.m.
