Mora's Golden Goal Downs Oregon, 3-2

Eugene, OR - The second-ranked UCLA women's soccer team defeated Oregon, 3-2 Sunday in double-overtime on a goal by Bruin forward Iris Mora. UCLA rounds out the regular season with a 16-1-3 overall record and finishes undefeated in the Pac-10 at 8-0-1.
UCLA struck first in the match when Whitney Jones scored in the 40th minute on assists from Nandi Pryce and Katherine Bjazevich. It looked like the Bruins would go into halftime with a 1-0 lead but Oregon answered back in the 45th minute on a goal by Nicole Garbin.
In the second half, Mora scored her first goal of the match in the 82nd minute to give UCLA a 2-1 advantage. Similar to the first half, Oregon scored just before the buzzer sounded, tying the match at 2-2 with another goal by Garbin in the 89th minute of play.
Following a scoreless first overtime period, Mora would end the match on a golden goal at the 103:43 mark of the second overtime. Bruin midfielder Sarah-Gayle Swanson hit a ball to Mora, who ended the game on a 7-yard strike.
UCLA outshot Oregon, 21-9 and also owned a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks. Bruin sophomore Emily Zaplatosch started the match for UCLA, giving up just one goal while making three saves. Freshman Arianna Criscione came in and played the entire second half, including both overtime periods.
The Bruins will find out who they will face in the NCAA Tournament, when the seedings and draw are announced on Monday at around 12:30 p.m. (PST) on ESPNews.
