Baker, Mescher Garner All-Pac-10 Honors

Oregon State women's soccer players Tessa Baker and Stacey Mescher earned All-Pacific-10 Conference recognition when the postseason all-conference teams were announced Thursday.

Baker was a second-team pick and Mescher garnered honorable mention. Both are sophomores, and both received their first all-conference recognition of their careers.

Baker and Mescher are from Mission Viejo, Calif.; Baker attended Aliso Niguel High School, and Mescher went to Mission Viejo.

UCLA's Nandi Pryce and Washington's Tina Frimpong were named co-Players of the Year, and UCLA's Jillian Ellis earned Coach of the Year.

USC's Rosa Anna Tantillo is the Pac-10 Freshman/Newcomer of the Year.

Baker tied for second in the Pac-10 with 11 goals and was third in overall points with 25, which was the highest total by a Beaver since Val Williams' 37 points in 1995. Baker tied for ninth in the Pac-10 with 51 shots.

Mescher tied for third on the team with nine points on three goals and three assists and started all 19 games in which she played. Mescher has started 38 of 39 career games.
