Boyce And Hultin Earn All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention Accolades
'I am delighted. The fact that coaches in the Pac 10 recognized their performances is a wonderful honor, and reinforces what we as a staff have thought all year,' head coach Matt Potter said. 'This proves the point that hard work will be rewarded, when the concern is more than oneself. Mariette and Katie have been model 'TEAM members'. Their day to day dedication and hard work, in soccer and in the classroom has been outstanding. They deserve this moment, and I'm sure there will be many more to come!'
Boyce has been a strong presence in the Cougar defense for the past four years. She has started in every game she has played since her freshman year, only missing one contest in that span. Boyce has five goals and two assists for her career and earned second team All-Pac-10 All-Academic accolades in 2001 and 2002.
Hultin started off the season as a substitute for an injured Sara Leibowitz in WSU's match against Maryland Aug. 31. She proceeded to post six shutouts for the Cougs, third best in the Pac-10, recording 64 saves in 15 games. Hultin led the Pac-10 in save percentage with an .842 save percentage. She was fourth in the Pac-10 in goals against average with .84 goals allowed per game.
The Cougars finished the season 6-11-2 on the season, 2-5-2 in the Pac-10.
