Senior Kirk Chambers was named to the 2003 CoSida Academic All-District-8 First Team today while teammates Kevin Schimmelmann and Babatunde Oshinowo were chosen to the Second-Team. Chambers will now advance to the national ballot, which will be released on December 1.

A 6-7, 315 pound tackle from Provo, Utah, Chambers was a First-Team Academic All-Pac-10 and Second-Team Academic All-District-8 selection last season. He is in his fourth consecutive season as Stanford's starting left tackle and his streak of 42 straight starts is among the best in school history.

Schimmelmann started the first six of the 2003 season at outside linebacker. He has 40 tackles and is tied for second on the team with seven tackles for loss. A year ago, he was named First-Team Academic All-Pac-10.

Oshinowo, who was a Second-Team Academic All-Pac-10 choice last year as a freshman, has enjoyed an outstanding season in his first year in the starting lineup. He has started all eight games at nose tackle, accounting for 17 total tackles, a team-leading four quarterback sacks and seven tackles for loss, which is tied for second on the team.
