USC Women's Golf To Be Honored At White House On Monday

Los Angeles - The USC women's golf team--the 2003 NCAA champion--has been selected along with eight other teams to take part in the 2003 NCAA Spring Sports Championship Day hosted by President George W. Bush at The White House on Monday (Nov. 17) in Washington, D.C.

USC--coached by Andrea Gaston--will join Clemson's men's golf team, Princeton's women's lacrosse team, Virginia's men's lacrosse team, Florida's women's tennis team, UCLA's women's softball team, Illinois' men's tennis team and Rice's baseball team at a ceremony to take place in the White House East Room at 2 p.m.

Mikaela Parmlid, who won the NCAA individual crown for USC last spring, will present President Bush with a Women of Troy national title hat, a golf shirt and some golf balls.

USC won the team title--the first for any Trojan team in golf--last May in W. Lafayette, Ind.
