Freshman Larsen Jensen won twice and sophomore Ous Mellouli and freshman Gergely Meszaros each won once, but USC's men's swimming and diving couldn't overtake Arizona State, falling in Tempe, 172.5-127.5 on Saturday (Nov. 15) in the short course meters meet.

Jensen won both the 1500m free (15:40.35) and the 400m free (3:55.26). His win in the mile led a 1-2-3 Trojan sweep with sophomores Tyler Storie (15:52.57) and Mike Kauffman (16:00.18) taking second and third, respectively.

Jensen's win in the 400m free was followed by USC senior co-captain Matthew Peterson in second (4:03.17), Kauffman in third (4:04.78) and Storie in fourth (4:06.57).

Mellouli won his event in the 200m IM, posting a 2:02.64. Junior Paul Fahey took second in the event (2:05.74) and was also second in the 100m breast (1:04.51).

Meszaros claimed first in the 100m fly in 54.73, a season best. He was also second in the 200m fly (2:05.88, a USC season best).

Senior co-captain Trent Staley was second in the 100m back (55.85) and the 200m back (1:58.50), missing first in the latter event by .03.

Senior Ray Vincent was second on 1-meter while freshman Michael Hilde was second on 3-meter.
