Men's Golf Signs Rob Grube To Letter Of Intent

Stanford, Calif. - The Stanford men's golf program is proud to announce the signing of Rob Grube to a National Letter of Intent for the 2004 season.

'It is very exciting to add Rob to the Cardinal family,' head coach Jeff Mitchell said. 'He is an accomplished golfer and an extraordinary student. He will have an immediate impact on our program.'

Grube, from Hinsdale, Illinois, is in his senior year at Robert Louis Stevenson in Carmel. He is no stranger to Stanford. Rob's parents, John and Ann graduated from Stanford while Rob's sister, Katie, is a member of the women's lacrosse team at Stanford.

Grube was a 2002 FCWT First-Team All American as well as the 2003 San Jose Mercury New High School Player of the Year. He was the CCS Champion, the CIF Regional Champion and the CIF Northern California Champion. He was also named the CIF Northern Player of the Year. He shot 62 at the Western Junior at Sea Island, breaking Davis Love III's record. Rob is currently ranked 13th in the nation and 4th among all high school seniors.
