Women's Basketball Signs Forward Tiffany Ducker For 2004-05 Season
Nov. 17, 2003
CORVALLIS, Ore. - Tiffany Ducker, a 6-1 forward from Stockton, CA, has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball next season at Oregon State University, announced Beaver head coach Judy Spoelstra on Monday.
Ducker will join the Beaver squad for the 2004-05 season after graduating from St. Mary's High School, where she helped lead the team to the CIF State Division IV Championship. Ducker was instrumental in the squad winning its second consecutive state title. St. Mary's reeled off 28 straight victories to close out the 2002-03 season and earned its fourth San Joaquin Section title.
'Tiffany is another power-forward that we are very fortunate to sign because a lot of schools were looking at her,' said Spoelstra. 'She is very athletic and can put the ball on the floor and go by people. I really like her perimeter passing skills and with a player like Hollye Chapman leaving (graduating), I think Tiffany is a player that can shore-up a lot of her responsibilities.'
The addition of Ducker to the Oregon State squad brings the Beavers' early signing recruits to a total of three.
'This is a solid signing class,' said Spoelstra. 'These are three players that have been recruited hard by a lot of schools and I feel very, very good about this class. They will help in areas that we needed to shore-up - We're really excited about this group.'
Women's Basketball signees:
Claire Pallansch (Redmond, Washington/Redmond High School)
Nikita Gordon (Lathrop, California/Sierra High School)
Tiffany Ducker (Stockton, California/Saint Mary's High School)
