The winner of Friday's match will earn the final five women's volleyball points towards the 2003-04 Lexus Gauntlet. Fans can listen to the live audio broadcast on www.usctrojans.com.

Friday's match will also be Senior Night for the Women of Troy. USC's five seniors - April Ross, Katie Olsovsky, Toni Anderson, Nicole Davis and Kelli Lantz - will be honored prior to the start of the match.

The Women of Troy are coming off a 3-1 victory over seventh-ranked Stanford on Nov. 14 and a 3-0 sweep of No. 9 California on Nov. 15. For her performances in the two matches, junior outside hitter Keao Burdine was named Sports Imports/AVCA National and Pac-10 Player of the Week.

USC Wins 2003 Pac-10 Championship!
With last week's wins over Stanford on Nov. 14, USC clinched sole possession of the 2003 Pac-10 Championship. The Women of Troy have now won the last three-of-four conference titles. USC has won five conference titles in its 27-year program history (1976, 1977 and 1980 WCAA champions, 2000 Pac-10 co-champions, 2002 Pac-10 champions).

Battle For Third-Annual Lexus Gauntlet
The Women of Troy are looking to capture the final five of 10 women's volleyball points for the 2003-04 Lexus Gauntlet. USC already earned the first 5-of-10 points by beating the Bruins in the first volleyball meeting on Sept. 19. The Lexus Gauntlet is a season-long competition between USC and UCLA in all sports. Points are awarded to the winner of each Bruin-Trojan head-to-head contest throughout the year and the Lexus Gauntlet trophy is awarded to the school with the most points at year's end. USC captured the inaugural trophy in 2001-02, but the Bruins took the title last season. So far this year, UCLA leads 12.5-5.0, but 17.5 points are at stake this week as the teams face each other in volleyball (5 points), water polo (2.5 points) and football (10 points).

The Rankings
After entering the season at No. 1, the Women of Troy have held on to the top spot every week. USC kept all 65 first-place votes to remain No. 1 on this week's USA Today/AVCA Coaches Top 25 poll and the top spot in the Volleyball magazine poll.

Trojans Aiming For Undefeated Pac-10 record
USC is looking to finish the conference season with an undefeated 18-0 record. It would mark the eighth time a team went unbeaten in Pac-10 play, but the first time in six years (1997). Stanford went undefeated in 1991, 1995 and 1997, while UCLA has posted perfect marks in 1988, 1989, 1990 and 1992.

Burdine Named National And Pac-10 Player of the Week
Keao Burdine was named the Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week, as well as Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week, for her performances against Stanford and California last week. In the two wins, she hit .544 with 40 kills (5.71 kpg) off of 68 attacks. She also added 27 digs (3.86 dpg) and four blocks (0.57 bpg). Against Stanford, Burdine led all players with a career-high 24 kills and hit .649. The following night against Cal, she hit .419 with 16 kills. This is the first weekly Pac-10 and national honor for Burdine, marking USC's 33rd conference player of the week and only the fourth player to earn the national honor.

Haley Gets Notable Wins
With two wins last week, head coach Mick Haley posted his 200th career conference victory and 50th Pac-10 victory. In his 20 years as head coach at the Division I level, Haley has amassed a 200-13 (.939) career conference record, including wins in the Southwest, Big 12 and Pac-10. In just his third year at USC, and as part of the Pac-10, Haley owns a 50-3 (.943) Pac-10 Conference record.

Adams, Anderson Earn Academic Accolades
Emily Adams has been named to the 2003 Academic All-District VIII first team, while teammate Toni Anderson earned third team honors. This is the first-ever district honor for both Adams and Anderson, who both earned Pac-10 All-Academic accolades in 2002. As a first-team pick, Adams will be included on the national ballot. First, second and third team national winners will be announced on Dec. 5. Adams is an international relations major with a 3.67 cumulative grade point average. Anderson is a psychology major with a 3.22 GPA.

Haley Inducted To Texas Hall Of Honor
On Nov. 14, head coach Mick Haley was inducted into the University of Texas Women's Athletics Hall of Honor, marking the third such honor for Haley, who has also been inducted into the Ball State University Hall of Fame and Junior College Coaches Hall of Fame during his 28-year coaching career. Haley coached UT for a very successful 17-year run (1980-96), leading the Longhorns to national championships in 1988 (NCAA) and 1981 (AIAW).

Charting the Streaks
USC has won its last 38 consecutive matches (dating back to 11/2/02 when they lost 3-2 to Stanford at home), 16 consecutive home matches and 31 consecutive road matches. The Trojans have not dropped a road match since the 2001 season (a 3-1 loss at Stanford, 11/10/01).

The Only Unbeaten Team
USC is the only Division I team left unbeaten this season after Georgia Tech, who had recorded 23 straight wins to start the season and was the second-to-last team left untouched, endured a 3-2 upset to Maryland on Nov. 1.

26 Wins Match Best Start Since 1977
At 26-0, USC has surpassed last year's 19-0 start (USC dropped to 19-1 after falling to Stanford on Nov. 2, 2002). Its 26-0 record marks the best start since 1977 when USC captured the AIAW National Championship and finished the season with a 38-0 mark - the first undefeated record ever logged by a women's volleyball team in NCAA or AIAW history.

USC Looking For One More Win Over Ranked Team
This week's match against No. 8 UCLA will mark the 12th match for the Women of Troy against a ranked opponent this season. All of its ranked foes have been ranked among the top 13 and 11 of the 12 have been ranked among the top 10. With arguably the nation's toughest schedule, USC has defeated No. 2 Hawai'i (Aug. 22), No. 3 Florida (Aug. 21), No. 8 Northern Iowa (Aug. 30), No. 8 Pepperdine (Sept. 3), No. 13 Washington (Oct. 4), No. 7 Stanford (Oct. 17), No. 10 Washington (Oct. 31) and No. 9 California (Nov. 15), all by 3-0 scores, and beat No. 9 UCLA (Sept. 19), 3-1, No. 5 California (Oct. 18), 3-2, and No. 7 Stanford (Nov. 14), 3-1.

Pac-10 Features Six Ranked Teams
The Pac-10 continues to show why it is the most competitive volleyball conference in the nation. Six Pac-10 teams are ranked in the top 25 this week, and five are ranked among the top 11, including No. 1 USC, No. 7 Stanford, No. 8 UCLA, No. 9 California, No. 11 Washington and No. 25 Arizona. Half of the conference is in the top 11.

Outstanding Numbers
USC is currently leading the Pac-10 in hitting percentage (.354), opponent hitting percentage (.132), kills (17.77) and assists per game (16.37). The Women of Troy also lead the nation with their .354 attack percentage, in addition to ranking fourth in assists, and fifth in kills and blocks.

It's All About The Team
Just like last season, USC relies on a true 'team' effort to win matches. There is not just one go-to player for the Trojans, there's a team full of standouts all sharing responsibility. Currently, three players are averaging nearly 3.5 kills per game (April Ross - 3.66, Emily Adams - 3.48, Keao Burdine - 3.45), three average nearly a block per game (Adams-1.45, Bibiana Candelas-1.28, Katie Olsovsky-0.96), three average more than 2.75 digs per game (Nicole Davis - 3.99, Ross - 3.07, Burdine - 2.85) and five players are hitting above .350 (Adams - .459, Candelas - .460, Kelli Lantz - .538, Staci Venski - .387, and even setter Toni Anderson - .591).

Stanford/Cal Recap
vs. Stanford
- USC defeated No. 7 Stanford, 3-1 (27-30, 30-13, 30-18, 30-18) on Nov. 14. The match was highlighted by the play of Keao Burdine and Bibiana Candelas, who were each error-free and posted .649 and .690 attack percentages. Burdine led with a career-high 24 kills, while Candelas added a career-high 20 kills. USC did not have a bad start despite the game-one loss. The Trojans matched or surpassed Stanford in kills (22 to 20), digs (21 to 17) and blocks (1.0 to 1.0), but made a few too many attack errors (8 to 2), allowing the Cardinal to slip by for the opening 30-27 win. The two teams stayed close early in game two, but eventually the Women of Troy managed to break away. The Cardinal was unable to counter the Trojans' attack for the remainder of the match. USC hit .500, .375 and .478 in the final three games, as Stanford was held to a .048, .045 and .250 hitting percentage in games two, three and four. The Women of Troy also out-blocked Stanford, 12.0 to 3.0.

vs. California - USC swept No. 9 California (30-25, 30-20, 30-22) on Nov. 15. Keao Burdine and Bibiana Candelas enjoyed another outstanding performance. Burdine led the Women of Troy with 16 kills and 18 points for a .419 attack percentage, while Candelas posted a team-best .600 hitting percentage (10-1-15) and six blocks. Cal, the only team to push the Women of Troy to five games this season in the first meeting on Oct. 18, was unable to repeat the feat in Los Angeles. The Bears never led in the three-game match and were held to a .180 attack percentage and 8.0 team blocks.
