Eight Huskies Named To Pac-10 Men's Soccer All-Conference Team

WALNUT CREEK, CALIF. - Led by first-team selection C.J. Klaas, eight Huskies were named to the Men's Soccer All-Pac-10 team, the conference office announced Thursday.
Klaas, a junior midfielder, earned his second-straight first-team All-Pac10 nod, while freshman defender Ty Harden, senior midfielder Troy Ready and senior goalkeeper Danny Waltman all were named to the All-Pac-10 second-team. Harden, Ready and Waltman earned all-conference honors for the first time in their careers.
Four more Huskies were selected to the honorable mention team, including sophomore midfielder Michael Chabala, senior forward Sean Giudice, sophomore midfielder Leo Totev and junior forward Brett Wiesner.
Harden, Washington's standout defender, was one of three freshman named to the All-Pac-10 second-team, with the other two, Oregon State's Robbie Findley and UCLA's Chad Barrett being named Co-Freshmen of the Year. UCLA's Matt Taylor was named Player of the Year, while Bruin Tom Fitzgerald was named Coach of the Year. Fitzgerald led UCLA to a 10-0 Pac-10 record, making the Bruins the first team to run the table in conference play.
The Huskies, who received a first-round bye, will open NCAA Tournament play, Wed., Nov. 26 hosting a second-round match with either Oregon State or Portland. Wednesday's match will be played at 7 p.m. at Husky Soccer Field.
