Washington Volleyball Falls To Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz.- The 11th-ranked Washington volleyball team (18-8, 9-8 Pac-10) dropped to 25th-ranked Arizona (15-13, 9-8) in four games this evening at the McKale Center. Game scores were 30-23, 30-27, 19-30, 30-25.

The Wildcats used a balance of offense and defense to jump out to the 2-0 lead at the break. Arizona committed zero hitting errors and hit .609 in game one and posted five total blocks in game two

The Huskies bounced backed with a dominating win in game three after jumping out to a seven-point lead early. UW hit .517 for the frame, while limiting Arizona to a match-low .161.

Sophomore Kim Glass carried the Wildcats in game four, as she notched12 kills on 14 swings with just one error for a .786 hitting percentage in the decisive game four win.

Sanja Tomasevic finished the match with 16 kills, while Alexis McDonald added 12 kills on 17 swings for a .588 hitting percentage. Courtney Thompson tallied 51 assists on the night while leading the defensive effort with eight digs. McDonald also added four blocks.

Washington will close out the conference schedule on Saturday at Arizona State. The Huskies defeated the Sun Devils 3-1 in Seattle earlier this season. First serve is set for 7 p.m. MST.
