On Saturday, November 22, the Women's Intercollegiate Cross Country Coaches Association (WICCCA) named its regional coaches and athletes of the year. Bruin head coach Eric Peterson was named the West Region Coach of the Year. Stanford's Alicia Craig was named the West Region Athlete of the Year.

At the NCAA West Regional Championships, Peterson coached the Bruins to a second place finish and their first ever NCAA Championships automatic team bid. UCLA scored 69 points and five Bruins finished in the Top-25, receiving All-Regional honors.

At today's NCAA Championships, held in Waterloo, IA, the Bruins placed seventh overall with 293 points and Bruins Valerie Flores and Ashley Caldwell were named All-Americans. It was the highest finish ever under Peterson and one of only five Top-10 finishes in UCLA women's cross country history.
