Sun Devils Edge Cal St.-Fullerton

TEMPE, Ariz. - Ike Diogu scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half,helping Arizona State hang on for a 83-76 win over Cal State Fullerton onMonday night.
Stevie Moore had 14 points and nine rebounds and Jamal Hill scored 13 pointsfor the Sun Devils (2-0), who built a 16-point lead in the second half andfought off Fullerton's attempts to rally.
Derick Andrew had 21 points for the Titans (0-2).
Fullerton came back despite the absence of Papa Sow, who had 14 points andeight rebounds before he fouled out with 6:51 to play. Anthony Bolton added 11points.
Andrew hit a 3-pointer with 36 seconds remaining to pull the Titans within78-72.
The Sun Devils' poor free-throw shooting - Jason Braxton was 1-of-5 andWilfried Fameni and Hill were 1-fo-2 in the final minute - allowed the Titans(0-2) to cut it down to 80-76 on Bobby Brown's runner with 11 seconds left.
Fullerton got the ball back in the next second when Moore picked up anoffensive foul, but Bolton missed a 3-pointer and Hill rebounded.
Diogu, who had nine rebounds, missed three free throws in a 35-second spanduring the Titans' run. But he broke a 2:34 dry spell with two free throws with6:02 to play, sending the Sun Devils to a 64-57 lead, and Moore had athree-point play at the 5:30 mark.
Arizona State led 10-2 early, but walk-on Brian Pruitt had nine pointsduring a 27-14 surge that gave the Titans a 29-24 lead with 5:55 to go in thefirst half.
Arizona State finishing the half with a 16-2 run featuring Hill's two3-pointers in the final 2:30 and went ahead 51-35 on a putback by Moore 2:49into the second half.
