USC Wins 2003 Pac-10 Championship With Perfect Mark
USC captured the 2003 Pac-10 Championship with a perfect 18-0 record. This is the first time the Women of Troy have gone unbeaten in Pac-10 conference play and the eighth such record in Pac-10 history. The Women of Troy have now won the last three-of-four conference titles. USC has won six conference titles in its 27-year program history (1976, 1977 and 1980 WCAA champions, 2000 Pac-10 co-champions, 2002 and 2003 Pac-10 champions).

The Rankings
After entering the season at No. 1, the Women of Troy have held on to the top spot every week. USC kept all 65 first-place votes to remain No. 1 on this week's USA Today/AVCA Coaches Top 25 poll and the top spot in the Volleyball magazine poll.

NCAA Selection Show
The NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Committee will select the 64-team field, including at least one team from each of the eight districts. A total of 31 conferences have been granted automatic qualification - by securing the 2003 conference title, USC is the Pac-10 recipient of the automatic bid - the remaining teams will be selected at large. The selection show will be televised live on ESPN News on Sunday, Nov. 30, at 8 p.m. EST.

USC Faces CSUN In Volleyball And Men's Basketball
USC will take on its Northridge neighbors twice this week. Following Tuesday's volleyball match-up, the Trojans host the Matadors in men's basketball on Sunday, Nov. 30, at noon.

Fan Support Highlights Women of Troy Season
The Women of Troy have enjoyed great fan support this season. USC has played in front of six 1,000+ crowds this season, including a season-best 1,893 who attended the USC-UCLA match on Nov. 21.

Five Earn Pac-10 Academic Accolades
Emily Adams has been named to the 2003 Pac-10 All-Academic first team, while Toni Anderson, Bibiana Candelas, Alicia Robinson and April Ross earned honorable mention accolades. Adams, who boasts a 3.67 grade point average as an international relations major, was also recently named to the Academic All-District VIII First Team and is now eligible for national honors. Anderson, a psychology major with a 3.22 GPA, was named an All-District VIII honorable mention pick. This is the first academic honor of the season for Candelas, Robinson and Ross. Candelas is a communications major with a 3.06 overall grade point average, Robinson boasts a 3.22 GPA as a psychology major and Ross is an international relations major with a 3.15 average.

Charting the Streaks
USC has won its last 39 consecutive matches (dating back to 11/2/02 when they lost 3-2 to Stanford at home), 17 consecutive home matches and 31 consecutive road matches. The Trojans have not dropped a road match since the 2001 season (a 3-1 loss at Stanford, 11/10/01).

The Only Unbeaten Team
USC is the only Division I team left unbeaten this season after Georgia Tech, who was the second-to-last team left untouched, endured a 3-2 upset to Maryland on Nov. 1.

27 Wins Match Best Start Since 1977
At 27-0, USC has surpassed last year's 19-0 start (USC dropped to 19-1 after falling to Stanford on Nov. 2, 2002). Its 27-0 record marks the best start since 1977 when USC captured the AIAW National Championship and finished the season with a 38-0 mark - the first undefeated record ever logged by a women's volleyball team in NCAA or AIAW history.

USC Notches One More Win Over Ranked Team
USC's 3-0 victory over No. 8 UCLA on Nov. 21 marked the 12th match for the Women of Troy against a ranked opponent this season. All of its ranked foes have been ranked among the top 13 and 11 of the 12 have been ranked among the top 10. With arguably the nation's toughest schedule, USC has defeated No. 2 Hawai'i (Aug. 22), No. 3 Florida (Aug. 21), No. 8 Northern Iowa (Aug. 30), No. 8 Pepperdine (Sept. 3), No. 13 Washington (Oct. 4), No. 7 Stanford (Oct. 17), No. 10 Washington (Oct. 31), No. 9 California (Nov. 15) and No. 8 UCLA (Nov. 21), all by 3-0 scores, and beat No. 9 UCLA (Sept. 19), 3-1, No. 5 California (Oct. 18), 3-2, and No. 7 Stanford (Nov. 14), 3-1.

Losing To The Trojans Is A Good Thing?!?!
UCLA is the latest team to benefit from a loss to the Trojans. So far this season, 10 of USC's 12 ranked opponents have found that losing to USC is not necessarily a bad thing. Of the 12 ranked opponents the Women of Troy have faced and beaten, five teams held on to their rankings the following week (#2 Hawai'i, #3 Florida, #13 Washington on Oct. 4, #7 Stanford on Nov. 14 and #9 cal on Nov. 15) and five teams moved up in the polls (Northern Iowa went from #8 to #6, Pepperdine jumped from #8 to #7, UCLA moved from #9 to #8 on Sept. 19, Stanford went from #7 to #6 on Oct. 17 and UCLA went from #8 to #7 Nov. 21). Cal (#5 to #7), on Oct. 18, and Washington (#10 to #11), on Oct. 4, were the only teams to drop in the rankings following the loss.
