Huskies Down Eastern Washington 104-91

SEATTLE (AP) - Tre Simmons scored nine of his 19 points during a late 19-4run that put Washington ahead for good in a 104-91 victory over EasternWashington on Saturday.

The Huskies have three straight wins to open the season for the first timesince the 1998-99 campaign.

Brandon Roy scored 19 points, while Nate Robinson and Bobby Jones added 14apiece for Washington (3-0).

Alvin Snow scored 19 points for Eastern Washington (1-3). Marc Axton andJosh Barnard, who played for Huskies during the 2001-02 season beforetransferring, each added 18 points for the Eagles. Brendon Merritt and PaulButorac contributed 14 points apiece.

Washington scored 100 points for the first time since a 101-86 victory atUSC on Jan. 29, 1998.

There were seven lead changes and five ties in the second half beforeWashington's decisive run blew open what had been a close game.

With Eastern Washington leading 76-73, Jones opened the run with two freethrows and capped it with a layup off a Simmons assist that gave the Huskies a92-80 lead with 3:13 remaining in the game.

The Huskies led by at least 10 points the rest of the way.

Washington enjoyed a huge advantage at the free throw line, making eightmore free throws than the Eagles attempted.
