OSU Ends Season After 3-0 Loss To Pacific

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Oregon State volleyball team's bid for an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament came to an end after losing 3-0 to Pacific in the championship match of the Bankers Classic on Saturday night. Game scores were 30-18, 30-27 and 30-27.
The loss dropped OSU's record to 16-16; teams must have a winning record to be considered for an at-large NCAA berth. Pacific improved to 17-13.
'We couldn't get it done. We gave it a good fight,' coach Nancy Somera said. 'It's disappointing. This was a great group to coach, and you hate to see it end.'
Allison Lawrence had a team-high nine kills against the Tigers, and she added 11 digs and two aces. Already on the top 10 list for single-season kills, Lawrence also moved into the top 10 lists for digs and aces after her performance against UOP. She finished the season with 425 kills (7th), 388 digs (T7th), and 47 aces (T9th).
Lawrence joined teammate Anne Watts-Roberts on the all-tournament team. Watts-Roberts had eight kills and 13 digs in the loss to UOP.Tournament MVP Jennifer Joines hit .293 with 16 kills, 15 digs and five blocks to lead the Tigers.
K.C. Frederic closed out her career with a team-best 14 digs to lead a Beaver defense that finished with 70 digs. Karah Rhoades added 10 as four Beavers finished with double-figures. Pacific narrowly outdug OSU with 72 digs, led by Stevie Mussie's 19.
Laura Collins had 27 assists, nine digs, three kills and four blocks in her final collegiate match.
