Bruins Will Host NCAA Volleyball First/Second Round

LOS ANGELES - The UCLA women's volleyball team has been selected as the No. 8 seed in the 64-team NCAA Championship field, and will open tournament play at home on Friday, December 5 against San Diego. Missouri and UC Irvine will also play opening-round matches at Pauley Pavilion.

The Bruins, ranked seventh in the most recent AVCA/USA Today Coaches Poll, are participating in their 22nd NCAA Championship. UCLA has won three NCAA titles (1984, 1990, 1991) and six total National Championships in women's volleyball (1971-72 DGWS and 1974, 1975 AIAW).

Winners of Friday night's first round matches (Missouri vs. UC Irvine at 5:30 pm; San Diego at UCLA at 8 pm) will play on Saturday night, December 6, at 7 pm. All three matches will take place at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion.

All-session tickets are available through the UCLA Central Ticket Office at 310-UCLA-WIN. They are selling for $12 for adults and $8 for students and youth. Single-session tickets, which will only be sold on game-days, are available for $8 for adults and $5 for students and youth. All tickets are general admission.

NCAA Second Round Match � Saturday, December 6, 2003
