Isaiah Fox to Have Surgery on Left Knee

Dec. 1, 2003

TUCSON, Ariz. - University of Arizona men's basketball player Isaiah Fox will have surgery Tuesday to repair an injury to his left knee.

Fox, a 6-foot-9, 269-pound, forward from Santa Monica, Calif., had an MRI exam performed on his left knee Monday afternoon that revealed a meniscal tear. He will have arthroscopic surgery Tuesday, Dec. 2, to repair that tear.

A time frame for Fox's return will be determined following the procedure. He suffered the injury in the first half of last Friday's 78-77 loss to Florida.

Fox is averaging 8.5 points and 6.5 rebounds through two games this season. He posted his first career double-double on Nov. 24 with 15 points and 11 rebounds against Northern Arizona.

Seventh-ranked Arizona (1-1, 0-0 Pac-10) will next be in action on Saturday, Dec. 6, at Saint Louis. Tip-off is scheduled for Noon CST and can be seen nationally on ESPN2.
