BERKELEY, Calif. - California sophomore Bridget Duffy was selected to the second team All-Pac-10 cross country team on Thursday. Duffy finished 13th at the Pac-10 Championships on Nov. 1 to earn her first selection to the all-conference team.
Last week, the Oakland, Calif., product earned honorable mention Academic All-Pac-10 recognition.
Duffy capped her second collegiate season on Nov. 24 by being named an All-American for her 42nd-place finish at the 2003 NCAA Cross Country Championships. The co-captain was the first Golden Bear woman to compete at nationals since Elissa Riedy did so in 1997 and 1998 and is only the eighth Cal women's runner to ever earn All-America honors in cross country. On the year, Duffy paced the Bears in seven of eight competitions she entered and has led the team in 12 of 13 events since arriving on campus last year.
