Zach Wells Named National Player Of The Year By Sports Illustrated On Campus

New York, NY - UCLA senior goalkeeper Zach Wells (Costa Mesa, Calif.) has been selected by Sports Illustrated On Campus as its National Player of the Year for Men's Soccer in the magazine's inaugural 'Players of the Year' list.

Wells has led top-ranked and top-seeded UCLA to the NCAA Quarterfinals, setting a school single-season record for victories (20) and posting a goals against average of 0.45 with 11 shutouts. He also set the school record for career saves (266) and is on pace to set the school record for goals against average in a season (the current school record is 0.53). The first-team All-Pac-10 selection has also been a standout in the classroom, earning second-team Academic All-America honors.
