Kalyn Keller Posts School Record

Freshman Kalyn Keller won the 800m freestyle in school-record fashion and junior teammate Kaitlin Sandeno won the 200m fly on the final day of the Texas Invitational at the Joe Jamail Swim Centeer in Austin.

Keller won the 800m free in 8:43.42, shattering Trojan great Lindsay Benko's time of 8:47.74 set at the 1997 U.S. Open.

Later, Sandeno won the 200m fly in 2:11.25 while junior Margie Pedder was fourth (2:16.09) and senior Jana Krohn was eighth (2:19.24).

Freshman Larsen Jensen was the top collegiate finisher in the men's 1500m free in 15:24.94, finishing only behind former Trojan great Erik Vendt, who swam a 15:19.72.

Sophomore Ous Mellouli made a pair of finals appearances, taking fourth in the 200m back (2:04.16) and fifth in the 200m breast (2:21.40). Senior Trent Staley finished just ahead of Mellouli in the 200m back, taking third in 2:02.68 while freshman Joon Youm finished behind Mellouli in the 200m breast in sixth in 2:23.97.

Junior Joanna Fargus was fourth in the 200m back (2:16.05) and Kristina Sieper finalled in the 200m breast (2:42.52).
