Carl Acosta Lands On All-Far West Second Team

BERKELEY, Calif. - Junior forward Carl Acosta was selected to the All-Far West second team today. He was the lone Cal player selected.

Acosta had his best season as a Golden Bear. He notched nine goals, while playing in 19 games, including a stretch of seven goals over a nine-game stretch. Mainly a reserve player last year, Acosta was the Bears' best scoring option in 2003. He had three game-winning goals against Cal State Fullerton (9/7), Saint Mary's (9/20) and Stanford (11/15). Adding two two assists to his goal talley, Acosta led the team in points with 20.

Acosta's selection to the team is his first and continues a streak of six straight years that the Bears have had a representative on the team.
