Yokers Named 2003 Team MVP

BERKELEY, Calif. - Senior midfielder Kimberly Yokers was selected Most Valuable Player of the 2003 California women's soccer team at the annual team banquet last week.

Yokers, who hails from Seattle, Wash., also was named first team All-Pac-10 and second team Academic All-Pac-10 after tying for the Golden Bears' lead for points (8) and goals (3).

Other awards announced at the banquet include:

Offensive MVP: Kassie Doubrava
Defensive MVP: Ashley Valenzuela
Freshman of the Year: Alivia Mazura
Most Improved Player: Sierra Schlesinger
All-Cal Award: Kimberly Yokers
Coaches' Award: Sani Post
