Leilani Estavan Named Pac-10 Player of the Week

OREGON STATE SENIOR LEILANI ESTAVAN NAMEDPAC-10 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF WEEK
WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-- OREGON STATE senior gurard Leilani Estavan has been named the Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 15-21, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Estavan, from Los Angeles, Calif., averaged 17.0 points, 4.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds, in a pair of wins as OSU upset No. 19/20 Utah and Cincinnati 61-55. On the weekend, she hit 5-of-7 from beyond the arc and shot at a .571 clip from the floor (12-of-27).
In the 71-62 win over Utah on Dec. 16, Estavan scored nine points and dished out a season-high seven assists, shooting 4-of-7 from the field. In the 61-55 road win at Cincinnati on Dec. 19, she scored a career-high 25 points, with eight coming in the final 2:22 to seal the victory.
The road win against the Bearcats was Oregon State's third in a row away from Gill Coliseum and gave Cincinnati its first back-to-back home losses in seven years.
The Player of the Week honor is Estavan's first and the 49th all-time selection for Oregon State.
