Jan. 12, 2004

CORVALLIS, Ore. - -

Female Oregon State University students and high school seniors interested in competing at the Division I level for OSU's women's cross country and track programs are invited to contact head coach Kelly Sullivan. He can be reached at (541) 737-9924, or by email at Kelly.Sullivan@oregonstate.edu.

OSU's cross country program will begin competition in the fall of 2004 (track resumes in winter of 2005) after a 16-year hiatus. Track will consist of middle distance and distance events only.

Oregon State fielded highly-successful women's track and cross country programs from 1975-88, during which time three Beavers subsequently earned spots on the U.S. Olympic team. In those 14 seasons of competition, OSU had 12 All-America finishes and four national champions.
