Softball Ranked No. 23 In ESPN.com/USA Softball Preseason Poll.

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Oregon State University's softball team enters the 2004 season ranked No. 23 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 Collegiate poll.

All eight Pacific-10 Conference teams are ranked in the preseason poll with UCLA garnering the top spot, followed by California and Arizona at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.

The Beavers return nine players from last season's squad that reached the NCAA Regional Championship game.

OSU has made five consecutive NCAA Regional Tournament appearances.

Three All-Pac-10 honorees (Monica Hoffman, Kelly Petersen, Adrienne Alo) return to lead the Beavers against Santa Clara at the UC Santa Barbara Tournament in the Jan. 30 season opener.
