Cougars Set to Begin Dual Match Play Against BYU

THIS WEEK: The Cougars will host their first dual meet against Brigham Young Friday, Jan. will be held in Lewiston at the Lewis-Clark State College Tennis Center.

HART ON THIS WEEKEND: 'We are mentally and physically prepared for BYU,' Washington State Head Coach Lisa Hart said. 'If we keep focusing on the things we can control, the winning will take care of itself.'

UP NEXT: The Cougars will head to Virginia to take on Radford Feb. 13 and Virginia Tech Valentines' Day.

LAST TIME OUT: The team captured 14 wins at the Pac-10 Indoor Championships in Seattle Jan. 16-18...Cougars improved from only having two wins at the same tournament in 2003...Lorena Arias captured three consecutive victories to end the tournament while first-time Cougar tandem Nelly Dvornicka and Zsofia Fodor knocked off two teams to begin play before losing in the semifinal round to UCLA's Daniella Bercek/Sarah Gregg.

COUGARS IN THE RANKINGS: The WSU Cougars finished last season at No. 51 in the ITA rankings...Orsolya Sallai is ranked No. 20 in singles in the Northwest Region...senior Arias is No. 30 in the Northwest Region...Arias and junior Chris Martinez are ranked No. 9 regionally in doubles.
