Women's Golf In 15th Place After Day 1 Of Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge

PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. - The Arizona State women's golf team is in 15th place at the conclusion of the first day of competition at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge at the Palos Verdes Golf Club after shooting a 39-over-par 323. Freshman Tiffany Tavee (Gilbert, Ariz.) leads the way for ASU after carding a five-over par 76 and is tied for 24th overall.
Sophomore Alissa Kuczka (Phoenix, Ariz.) is in the number two spot for the Sun Devils after the opening round, scoring an eight-over 79. She is tied for 43rd. Rounding out Arizona State's field of five are senior Lisa Desimone (Carmel, Calif.) at 12-over and tied for 63rd, redshirt freshman Danelle Perata (Vacaville, Calif.) at 14-over and tied for 72nd and freshman Charmaine Erasmus (Bradenton, Fla.) at 18-over and in 78th-place.
Senior Beatriz Conti (Caracas, Venezuela), playing as an individual, finished the day with an eight-over 79 and is also in a tie for 43rd.
UCLA leads the team competition with a two-over 286 while the Bruins' Charlotte Mayorkas holds a commanding four-stroke lead on the individual leaderboard following a five-under round of 66.
Competition continues tomorrow and Wednesday at the Regional Challenge. Conti tees off in the second group at 9:25 a.m. PT with the rest of the Sun Devils teeing off beginning at 10:30 a.m. Team scores after day one are as follows:
