BJORKLUND A FINALIST FOR NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARDS

BOULDER - University of Colorado senior center Tera Bjorklund has been named a finalist for both the 2004 Naismith Player of the Year Award and the 2004 Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA)/State Farm Wade Trophy.

Bjorklund currently leads the No. 13 Buffs in scoring (19.0 ppg) and tops the Big 12 Conference in field-goal percentage (.626). She is one of 20 finalists for the Naismith Award and one of 21 finalists on the Wade Trophy list. CU, 19-4 overall, plays at the University of Oklahoma tonight.

The winner of the Wade Trophy and the Kodak All-America team will be announced during the WBCA National Convention, April 3-6, in New Orleans, while the winner of the Naismith Award will be announced in Atlanta on April 9.
