WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Arizona sophomore left fielder Autumn Champion was named Pacific-10 Conference Player of the Week for Feb. 9-15 after helping lead Arizona to a 6-0 record at the Fiesta Bowl Tournament in Phoenix last weekend.

UA improved to 11-0 overall. Champion, who bats second in the lineup, had 15 hits in 20 at bats, scored nine runs and stole seven bases in seven attempts.

The hitting splurge boosted her season batting average to a team-best .625 and pushed her over the 100-hit mark in her short one-plus year career. She has 109 hits and a career batting average of .460. This year she has 20 hits in 32 at bats.

Champion was UA's lead-off hitter as a freshman and earned first-team All-America honors, but has moved to the set-up spot with freshman speedster Caitlin Lowe taking over in the top of the order. Lowe leads the team with 19 runs scored, is batting .514, has slugged two home runs and is tied with Champion with nine stolen bases this season.
