Louisville Defeats San Diego State, 19-6, At USC/Public Storage Baseball Classic

LOS ANGELES - Third baseman Ryan McKinnon went 3-for-5 with a grand slam and four RBI Saturday as the Louisville Cardinals defeated the San Diego State Aztecs, 19-6, in game three of the 2004 USC/Public Storage Baseball Classic at Dedeaux Field.
Louisville improves to 1-1 on the season while San Diego State falls to 6-10.
The Cardinals snapped a 2-2 tie in the fourth when Isaiah Howes scored from third on an error by SDSU shortstop James Guerrero. Louisville broke the game open with 16 runs in the final four innings, including a seven-run ninth inning.
James Valdes (1-0) on a predetermined start earned the win with four innings, allowing two runs on four hits with six walks and three strikeouts. Daryl Harang (1-2) took the loss for the Aztecs (5 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 4 BB, 5 SO).
Cardinal right fielder Mark Jurich went 3-for-7 with a double, home run and three RBI.
