WSU Faces California With Pac-10 Berth At Stake

THIS WEEK: Saturday, March 6, 2004 - WSU vs. California-2 p.m.
WSU PAC-10 TOURNAMENT SCENARIOS: If Washington State defeats California Saturday, the Cougars are in the 2004 Pacific Life Pacific-10 Tournament...if WSU loses, its season is over...if the Cougars win, they will face Stanford in the first round unless Oregon defeats UCLA (1 p.m.-CBS) and Oregon State knocks off USC (5 p.m.-FOX Sports Net)...a WSU win and victories by both Oregon schools earns the Cougars a No. 7 seed in the Pac-10 Tournament and a game against No. 2 seed Washington.
OTHER PAC-10 TOURNAMENT SCENARIOS: Stanford, Washington, Arizona, California and Oregon have clinched spots...Stanford is the No. 1 seed...Washington is No. 2...Arizona can clinch No. 3 with a California loss to WSU, Saturday or a win over Arizona State Sunday...California has clinched at least No. 4 and can move up to No. 3 with a win over WSU and an Arizona loss to ASU...Oregon can be No. 5, No. 6 or No. 7...USC can be No. 5, No. 6, No. 7 or No. 8, but misses the tournament with a loss and wins by UCLA and WSU...UCLA can be No. 6, No. 7 or No. 8 with a loss, but would miss the tournament with a loss and wins by Oregon State and Washington State...Oregon State can be No. 6, No. 7 or No. 8, but misses the tournament with a loss and a WSU win.
