Bears Post Qualifying Marks At Last Chance Meet

Seattle, WA - At the Husky Last Chance Meet, several Golden Bears made provisional NCAA qualifying marks in the last weekend of indoor competition before the NCAA Indoor Track Championships. Senior Amin Nikfar seized first place in the shot put with a provisional mark of 60-05.25 (18.42m), his season-best, while fellow senior Rhuben Williams followed close behind with a provisional mark of 58-10.25 (17.94m). Senior Chloe Jarvis took second in the 800m with a provisional time of 2:08.38, her season-best. Finally, Giliat Ghebray qualified provisionally with an 8:07.27 time in the 3,000m.

Other top-three finishers included Junior David Glasgow in second in the high jump (6-09.75, 2.08m), senior Bruce Giron in third in the triple jump (50-07.25, 15.42m), and sophomore Tiffany Johnson in third in the long jump (10-04.25, 5.91m).

The Bears open the outdoor season at home tomorrow with the Blue vs. Gold Intrasquad Meet.
