FULLERTON, Calif. - -
Brianne McGowan's leadoff solo homerun in the fifth inning powered Oregon State (17-6) to a 1-0 win over Oklahoma State (12-10) on Saturday at Cal State-Fullerton's Worth Tournament.
Monica Hoffman tossed five innings of no-hit, shutout ball and passed the 600-strikeout barrier (603) for her career with eight on Saturday while earning the win. McGowan came on in relief in the fifth and allowed one hit in two innings to earn the save.
Oklahoma State had a chance to do some damage in the fifth, but Hoffman struck out the final batter to get out of a bases-loaded jam.
The Beavers have won five in a row, not counting a 4-2 exhibition loss to the U.S. Olympic Team on Feb. 22.
OSU plays CS-Fullerton at 6 p.m. this evening.
