Postgame Quotes - Washington St. vs. OSU
March 6, 2004
2004 State Farm Pac-10 Tournament
Head Coach Sherri Murrell:
'We expected bad shooting in this arena, which happened, and that is why wewent to a zone. We didn't get the offensive boards and we allowed them waytoo many shots. I think teams that can rebound well in this facility and putit back up will win some games. We didn't get those stops and then we camedown and did not shoot well ourselves. I am not proud of our performancewhatsoever, on either ends of the floor'.
On 26 offensive rebounds by Oregon State:
'Effort and intensity. Everything we did this last week against Arizona andArizona State we went away from. They pushed us under and we didn't getstrong and push back. Some of our guards were missing some long tips. Weplayed those teams in Corvallis and we didn't have the same situation. Iknow it's in us. We played with intensity down there and that just didn'thappen here. Oregon State played harder than us. They got those rebounds'.
On the overall picture of this year:
'If I look at how we ended up in Pullman last week, yes it was great. Wehave a great future ahead of us with some kids. You can be the best coachin the country but you have to have the kids to do it. We are going tocontinue to recruit players. Bianca McCall is really disappointed tonight, but the program wouldn't be the same without her. We have our hands full andwe have to keep working hard as coaches to recruit.'
On how it feels when it snow balls on the court:
'It is hard, but coach just told us we need to stick together as one. Ithink everyone was trying, but they played harder and they were a lotstronger and it didn't go our way'.
