No. 4 Men's Tennis Hosts Three Top 25 Opponents

This Week -- The USC men's tennis team (8-1, 1-0 Pac-10) jumped to No. 4 in this week's ITA rankings as it prepares to host three-straight home matches. The Trojans welcome No. 10 Duke (10-4) on Thursday, March 11, at 1:30 p.m., No. 22 Arizona State (4-5) on Friday, March 12, at 1:30 p.m., and No. 25 Arizona (8-4) on Saturday, March 13, at 1 p.m. All three matches will be played at Marks Tennis Stadium. The matches against the Sun Devils and Wildcats will count towards conference records.
USC is coming off a 4-3 victory over then-No. 19 UCLA on March 2. The home victory over the Bruins marked the first for Trojans since 1998. With the win, USC garnered 2.5 points towards the Lexus Gauntlet.
ITA Ranking Updates -- With impressive victories over Baylor and UCLA over the last week, the Trojans jumped three spots to No. 4 in the most recent ITA rankings released on Tuesday. In singles, senior Adriano Biasella entered the rankings at No. 25 after a key victory over UCLA's Tobias Clemens. Freshman Jamil Al-Agba dropped to No. 53, Johan Berg moved to No. 56 and junior transfer Drew Hoskins dropped to 80th. In doubles, Daniel Langre and Hoskins entered the rankings this week at No. 12.
USC vs. Duke -- USC and Duke will be meeting for the fourth time on Thursday. The Trojans own a 3-0 record against the Blue Devils. The last time the two teams met was in the Round of 16 at the 1996 NCAA Championships. USC won 4-1.
USC vs. Arizona State -- Friday's match will be the 55th meeting between USC and Arizona State. The Trojans are 47-7 all-time against the Sun Devils. USC beat Arizona State 6-1 in the first meeting of the season in Tempe.
USC vs. Arizona -- Saturday's match against Arizona will marks the 85th meeting between these two teams. The Trojans are 83-1 against the Wildcats and suffered their only loss in 1981 in Tucson. The Trojans beat the Wildcats 7-0 in the first meeting of the season in Tucson.
