No. 12 Bruins Down Arizona, 6-1

TUCSON, Ariz. - The No. 12-ranked UCLA women's tennis team posted a 6-1 decision over No. 29 Arizona (4-6) Friday at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center in Tucson. The Bruins improve to 8-5 overall and 2-1 in Pac-10 play.
Arizona came out strong to win two of three doubles matches and claim the one point awarded for doubles play. It was all the Wildcats would get however, as UCLA reeled of six-straight singles victories.
UCLA's Jackie Carleton, Feriel Esseghir Lauren Fisher and Laura Gordon all posted straight-set wins on the day. In a match featuring two ranked players at the No. 1 court, Carleton, ranked No. 28 nationally, defeated 31st-ranked Dianne Hollands, 6-4, 6-4.
In addition to the straight-set winners for UCLA, 40th-ranked Daniela Bercek and Sarah Gregg each won in three sets. Bercek lost the first set of her match, coming back to defeat Debbie Larocque, 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 at No. 3 singles. Gregg defeated Kelly Perry, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 at the No. 4 court.
UCLA returns to action tomorrow to face Arizona State in Tempe at Noon.
