Cougar Tennis Hosts Ranked Bay Area Schools

THIS WEEK: The Cougars will host their first Pac-10 home matches against No. 12 California, Thursday March 25 and No. 1 Stanford, Saturday March 27.

WSU HEAD COACH Lisa Hart ON THIS WEEKEND: 'We're excited about the upcoming opportunities we will have when we host Cal and Stanford,' Hart said. 'I truly believe on a given day we can beat any team in the country.'

UP NEXT: The Cougars will face the heat in Arizona as they take on both Arizona schools...Washington State will face Arizona Friday, April 2 and Arizona State, Saturday April 3.

LAST TIME OUT: The Cougars knocked off No. 23 Oregon, 4-3 March 13...Washington State then traveled to Hawaii and lost to No. 26 New Mexico, 4-3...the Cougars took the match against Hawaii, 5-2 marking only the second time this season they have faced a non-ranked opponent...Lorena Arias completed the road trip without a loss in singles to up her win total to 21 this season.

COUGARS IN THE RANKINGS: The WSU Cougars finished last season at No. 51 in the ITA rankings and currently hold the No. 49 slot...Lorena Arias and Zsofia Fodor currently hold the No. 45 doubles position nationally.

WSU FACES TOUGH COMPETITION: The Cougars have faced nationally-ranked opponents in 11 of their 13 dual matches this season.
