Women's Golf Take Seventh At PING/ASU Invitational

Tempe, Ariz. - The Stanford women's golf team shot a final round of 296 to move up one spot and finish seventh at the PING/ASU Invitational in Tempe, Ariz. today. The Cardinal carded a 891 for the tournament. UCLA took top team honors, shooting a three-under par 861, followed by Southern California (877), New Mexico (293), Texas (885) and California (886).

UCLA's Charlotte Mayorkas won individual medalist honors after firing a nine-under par 207 over three rounds of play. Teammate Gina Umeck finished second (212), followed by Pepperdine's Carolina Llano (213), Washington's Paige MacKenzie (214) and Texas' Lisa Ferrero (216).

The Cardinal was led by Stephanie Lue, who tied for 18th with a 221 (74-75-72). Senior Kim Kouwabunpat tied for 22nd one stroke back with a 222 (76-73-73). Teammate Lauren Todd tied for 30th individually, carding a 224 (79-72-73) while Angela Rho tied for 34th with a 225 (72-75-78). Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana tied for 64 (78-76-79--233) and Wendra Liang, competing as an individual, tied for 76th (74-82-81--237).

Stanford is back in action next weekend, hosting the Peg Barnard Collegiate at the Stanford Golf Course, April 10-11.
