No. 11 Cal Slams Arizona State, 6-1

BERKELEY - The No. 11-ranked Cal Golden Bears defeated the Arizona State Sun Devils, 6-1, in a Pac-10 women's tennis match at Hellman Tennis Center. Cal improves to 15-6 overall and 6-4 in Pac-10 play, while Arizona State drops to 6-12 overall, 1-5 in the Pac-10.

In singles action, No. 4-ranked Cal senior Raquel Kops-Jones wasted little time steam-rolling over Arizona State's Joslynn Burkett, 6-1, 6-0. The No. 14-ranked Cal doubles team of Kops-Jones and Jieun Jacobs dispatched Arizona State's Lauren Colalillo and Kady Pooler, 8-5.

The Bears play their final home match of the 2004 season on Saturday, April 10, when they host the Arizona Wildcats at noon at Hellman Tennis Center. It will be the final home match for six Cal seniors: Kops-Jones, Jacobs, Catherine Lynch, Nicole Havlicek, Jody Scheldt, and Kristen Case.
