Beavers In Eighth In Stanford

STANFORD, Calif.- - The Oregon State women's golf team sits in eighth place Saturday after round one of the Peg Barnard Invitational at the Stanford Golf Course. The Beavers posted a team total of 316.
'Our play wasn't great today,' said head coach Risï¿½ Lakowske. 'I think we can do a lot better and tomorrow will be a do-or-die day for us.
'Everybody's up for it and we're ready to go, so we'll see what happens tomorrow.'
Host Stanford sits atop the leaderboard with a 295, eight strokes ahead of second-place Denver.
San Jose State's Ashley Gomes leads all individuals after firing a 1-under 71 and will carry a one stroke advantage over UC-Irvine's Angela Won and Washington's Ana Kostina into the final round on Sunday.
Sophomore Anna Rosvall, who is competing as an individual, is tied for 61st with an 84, and junior Alex Lucio is tied for 68th after posting a score of 86. Lucio was ill during her round Saturday, and although it is not clear exactly what she has, she is scheduled to compete Sunday.
The final round begins Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. with a shotgun start.
