No. 1 Stanford Blanks No. 41 Arizona State 7-0

STANFORD, Calif. - The No. 1 Stanford women's tennis team closed out the 2004 home season with another shutout, downing No. 41 Arizona State 7-0 at Taube Tennis Center on Saturday. Seniors Emilia Anderson and Lauren Barnikow wrapped up their Cardinal careers at home with victories in both singles and doubles action.

Stanford, who remains undefeated, improved its record to 21-0 overall and 6-0 in Pac-10 action.

Barnikow, ranked No. 43 by the ITA, tallied a 7-5, 7-5 win over ASU's Sabrina Capannolo, and continues to boast an undefeated 21-0 singles record in dual matches this season. No. 75 Anderson rallied to down Sun Devil Rebecca Rankin in three sets 3-6, 6-0, 6-3.

The top-ranked duo of Barnikow and Erin Burdette hold a 25-2 doubles record this season after defeating Lauren Colalillo and Kady Pooler of Arizona State 8-3.

The Cardinal travel to Los Angeles to end the regular season against UCLA on April 16, at 1:30 p.m. and USC at Noon on April 17.
