Cougars Host Huskies To Finish Regular Season

THIS WEEK: The No. 66 Washington State Cougars will finish out regular season play against the No. 8 Washington Huskies at the Stadium Way Tennis Center Friday, April 16.

WSU HEAD COACH Lisa Hart ON THIS WEEKEND: 'We have been waiting to play Washington since our close loss to them in early March. We are prepared and focused to make sure our seniors end their careers with a win.'

UP NEXT: Washington State will head to the Pac-10 Championships held in Ojai, Calif. April 22-25.

LAST TIME OUT: The Cougars fell to No. 8 USC, 6-1, and No. 7 UCLA also 6-1...Chris Martinez and Nora Gaal were the only Cougars to capture wins for the team in those two matches...Martinez knocked off Trojan Dianne Matias by a score of 4-6, 6-4, 10-8...Gaal put down her USC opponent Feriel Esseghir 6-0, 6-4 to capture win number 17 on the season.

COUGARS IN THE RANKINGS: The WSU Cougars finished last season at No. 51 in the ITA rankings and currently hold the No. 66 slot.

WSU FACES TOUGH COMPETITION: The Cougars have faced nationally-ranked teams in 17 of their 19 dual matches this singles the Cougars have faced ranked individuals 26 doubles 14 of their foes have been ranked.
