Husky Gymnasts Receive Honors
April 14, 2004
Seattle - Washington gymnasts Emily Pritchard, Carly Dockendorf, and Molly Seaman received post-season honors after their impressive gymnastics seasons came to a close. The Huskies failed to qualify as a team for the NCAA Championships after record-breaking regular season performances.
At the 2004 North Central Regional, senior Pritchard was named the 2004 West Regional Gymnast of the Year by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches for Women. Pritchard had record-breaking performances in her final year, setting Husky records on the vault, bars, and in the all-around. She won 40 event titles during her Husky career, which ranks fifth among Washington's all-time event winners.
Juniors Dockendorf and Seaman were named to the 2004 Pac-10 All-Conference Women's Gymnastics Team. Dockendorf tied for second on floor at the Pac-10 Championships with a near-perfect 9.975. She won ten floor titles this season, including two perfect10s. Seaman scored a 9.950 to tie for the Pac-10 balance beam title. She won seven beam titles this season and tied the school record with a 9.975 against UCLA on Feb. 27.
The Pac-10 All-Conference Team consists of the top six all-around competitors, plus the top three competitors in each individual event. A gymnast's score is determined by a combination of 50 percent regional qualifying score (entire season) and 50 percent Pac-10 Conference Championships score.
