No. 2 Bears Win Three Out Of Four Races Against Oregon State

April 17, 2004

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. - The California Golden Bears took three out of four races from the visiting Beavers today at Redwood Shores. The varsity eight, second varsity eight and novice eight each won its respective races, while the varsity four finished just behind OSU. The closest race of the day belonged to the novice eight. The Bears finished just .46 seconds ahead of the Beavers.

'Of all the Cal crews that raced today, the varsity was the most impressive,' said Cal women's head coach Dave O'Neill. 'They did a good job of attacking the full 2000 meters and are looking forward to the week ahead. Clearly we have some work to do with the other crews, but I am confident that we will pull things together.'

Next up for the Bears is a dual race with Pac-10 rival Washington on April 24, at Redwood Shores.
