Saturday at Mt. SAC

WALNUT, Calif. - Saturday at Mt. SAC, Golden Bears continued to record personal and season-bests and notch post-season qualifying marks at one of the nation's most prestigious meets.
On the track, junior Randy Fair ran a personal best 1:51.94 in the 800 meter to finish 22nd. He was followed by freshman Andy Perezchica who finished in 1:54.52. In the men's 1500 meter, both freshman David Torrence and sophomore transfer Ozzie Pina set season-bests. Torrence recorded a 3:54.09 time while Pina clocked out at 3:58.64, shaving nearly eight seconds off his next-best time this year. Pina was on familiar territory, having transferred to Cal from the host school, Mt. San Antonio Junior College. For the women, Bridget Duffy completed the 1500 meter in 4:27.12, another post-season qualifier for the All-American. Meanwhile, junior Lindsey Maclise wrapped up in 4:32.22. Freshman Darren Woods finished the 400 meter dash in 48.23 for the 20th slot and freshman Thomas Mack ran the course in 50.21.
On the field, sophomore Kurt Seefeld threw a season-best 174-05 (53.16m) in the discus, another post-season qualifying mark for Seefeld. Freshman Zak Thomas also had a season-best, throwing 180-05 in the hammer, while senior Rhuben Williams recorded a 196-02 mark, another post-season qualifier. Sophomore transfer Brandon Williams took third place in the long jump with a 22-10.5 mark.
