Walter, Hagan Shine at Spring Game

TEMPE, Ariz. - Senior quarterback Andrew Walter completed 12 of 22 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns as the Sun Devil football team wrapped up spring ball with the annual spring scrimmage Saturday afternoon at Sun Devil Stadium.

Junior Derek Hagan caught 11 passes for 179 yards, including a 31-yard touchdown catch from Walter. Redshirt freshman Rudy Burgess hauled in two passes for 70 yards with a 43-yard TD reception from Walter, while sophomore Alex King has two catches for 61 yards.

On the ground, junior Hakim Hill carried the ball 23 times for 86 yards with three touchdowns, while sophomore Randy Hill had 12 carries for 70 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Sophomore Terry Richardson also scored a touchdown on the ground, running 45 yards on a reverse.

Sophomore Sam Keller completed 7-of-12 passes for 63 yards, while redshirt freshman Mike Affleck went 5-for-9 for 112 yards.

The Sun Devil defense grabbed four interceptions including an interception for touchdown by senior Emmanuel Franklin. Sophomore Mike Davis, redshirt freshman Brett Palmer and sophomore Marcus Johnson each added interceptions as well.

Arizona State kicks off the 2004 football season on Thursday, Sept. 2, playing host to the UTEP Miners at 7 p.m. at Sun Devil Stadium.
