Washington State Tennis Heads to Pac-10 Tournament

THIS WEEK: The Washington State tennis team heads south to the Pac-10 Championships/Invitational in Ojai, Calif., April 22-25.

LINE-UP: Competing in championship singles will be Lorena Arias, Orsolya Sallai, and Nora Gaal...Arias/Chris Martinez will compete in championship doubles...the duo owns 45 career victories and is one win away from tying the school record...Martinez and Amy Toth are seeded in invitational singles...Zsofia Fodor/Sallai are seeded in invitational doubles...Gaal as well as Zorana Roganovic and Nelly Dvornicka will play invitational singles while Toth/Gaal and Roganovic/Dvornicka will take part in invitational doubles.

WSU HEAD COACH Lisa Hart ON THIS WEEKEND: 'We are looking forward to the Pac-10 Championships. We are going to compete hard and hopefully earn some quality wins.'

LAST TIME OUT: The Cougars fell to cross-state rival No. 8 Washington, 6-1...Amy Toth grabbed the lone win for the Cougars as she knocked off Husky Saskia Nauenberg, 6-4, 6-4.

COUGARS IN THE RANKINGS: The WSU Cougars finished last season at No. 51 in the ITA rankings and currently hold the No. 66 slot.

WSU FACES TOUGH COMPETITION: The Cougars have faced nationally-ranked teams in 18 of their 20 dual matches this season...in singles the Cougars have faced ranked individuals 29 times...in doubles 15 of their foes have been ranked.
