April 20, 2004

SOMIS, Calif.- - After two days of play at the Women's Pac-10 Championships, the Beavers sit in last place with one round remaining. OSU posted a team total of 334 Tuesday to give the team a two-round total of 666.

For the second day in a row, freshman Lindsay Eide and sophomore Leah Whiting tied, each firing an 84. Whiting was the only Beaver to card birdies today (on her 12th and 18th holes).

Eide and Whiting are tied for 41st.

Senior Laura Skinner struggled on her front nine, but carded seven pars and only two bogeys on the back to finish with an 82. She is tied for 47th.

First-round leader UCLA maintained the lead Tuesday, cutting 11 strokes off their first round total to lead USC by nine strokes going in to the final round with a 605. Defending Pac-10 champ California is tied with Arizona for third, 10 strokes behind UCLA.

The Bruins' lead is partly due to strong play from Hannah Jun and Charlotte Mayorkas, who share the lead after day two at 1-over 145. Arizona's Erica Blasberg is one stroke back of the leaders.

Junior Alex Lucio is one stroke behind Skinner and is in a tie for 50th.

Sophomore Anna Rosvall posted a two-day total of 177.
